Abstract
This research paper explores the vast
diversity of edible mushrooms found globally, highlighting their nutritional,
culinary, medicinal, and ecological importance. Through a comprehensive review
of existing literature, the study categorizes mushrooms based on taxonomy and
edibility, examines traditional and modern usage in different cultures, and
evaluates their potential contributions to food security and sustainable
agriculture. The paper also discusses popular recipes and preparation methods,
supported by recent findings from academic sources. Emphasis is placed on both
cultivated and wild-foraged mushrooms, their biochemical properties, potential
health benefits, and economic significance. Furthermore, the growing global
demand and challenges related to mushroom identification and safety are
discussed in detail.
