Abstract
The experiment was accompanied during the two winter seasons of (2019
and 2020) under tunnel conditions at Ismailia Station for Agricultural Researches
affiliated to the Agricultural Research Center, Giza, Egypt to evaluated the
effect of H2O2 at concentrations from 10 to 50 mM on
growth and yield parameters as well as fruit sweetness of cantaloupe fruits. The
experiment was arranged in a complete randomized design with 3 replicates for
each treatment. It found that application 300 ml solution of H2O2
to each cantaloupe plant (Cucumis melo L. cv. Milagro F1)
at different concentrations after one week of fruits set for 3 consecutive
weeks increase the plant growth, fruit yield, total soluble sugar content in
fruits and improving the fruit quality especially sweetness with increase the
concentration. It is propose to treat the plants with hydrogen peroxide
solution (50 mM) that could be an agricultural technology applicable to the
improvement growth, yield parameters and fruit sweetness.
